Parents: Richard and Charlotte Hattersley, nee Longdon.

Marriages: Elizabeth Mitchell 10th January 1820, Sarah Whitley 30th January 1838 and Mary Midgley 1st March 1841.

Children: With Elizabeth Mitchell, Richard Longden 1820, John Mitchell 1822, Edwin Greaves c1824, George Rhodes 1827, Sarah Ann 1830 and William Henry 1832. With Mary Midgley,  James Midgley 1843, Mary Elizabeth 1843, Thomas Driver 1845 and Rebecca 1847.

Occupation: Weaving machinery manufacturer or Whitesmith (a person who makes articles out of metal)

In the 1841 Census George was living in New Bridge Street, Keighley, with wife Mary and Children. In the 1851 Census he was living in MIll Hill with wife Mary, six children, sister-in-law Martha Midgley and a servant from Ireland, Sarah Raffatee. His 1851 Census entry, describes him as a spindle, power loom and worsted manufacturer, employing 60 men, 40 boys, 39 women and 29 girls. Son John was a Mechanic Journeyman and his son Edwin was Manager of a Worsted Factory.
