Notes: In the 1851 Census the family were living with Thomas, Henry's father in Compton. In the 1871 Census the family was living in the Guildford Union Workhouse, Stoke, Surrey. In the 1881 Census they were living in Mill Lane, Godalming. In the 1871 Census, Henry's daughter Charlotte was living in Shalford Common with cousins William and Mary A. Joy.  In the 1891 Census, Charlotte was found living at 73 White Lion Street, London and list as a servant. Her employer was a licensed victualler. She is believed to have died, Bagshot  in 1910.

Whilst trawling through the baptism records of Compton Parish Church, Surrey, an entry was found relating to one Charles Simmonds born 1854. His parents being Henry and Emma Simmonds of Compton. This is believed to be a Simmonds previously unknown. His birth year fits in between that of their son Henry 1851 and daughter Emma Jane 1856. No other information has yet been found (as of 2017), linking him with Henry and Emma. There is a possibility he married a Sarah Barber in 1879.

Henry died in the Guildford Union Workhouse aged 67 of Hemiplegia Exhaustion. This condition is often as the result of a stroke. His son John registered the death.
