Occupation: Two significant events to place during the life of this family. The first being the publication of the Book of Common Prayer in 1549. It was a product of the English Reformation and meant that all the rites, sacraments and ceremonies were carried out according to the use in the Church of England. The second in 1558, being the Act Of Uniformity. This stated that all people are required to go to church once a week or be fined.

Wife Elizabeth, was born in 1500, her parents were Sir John Sayer 1456-1509 and Elizabeth Hawkins 1450-1530.
