Born: c1254.

Place of Birth: Crathorne, Yorkshire.

Died: 1346, at the battle of Nevilles Cross near Durham, whilst fighting in the victory against the Scots on behalf of KIng Edward ll.

Parents: John le Teuler of York and ?

Marriages: Isabel Clervaux and Margaret Russell.

Children: John, Thomas, William, Nicholas and Mathew (there may have been other children).

Notes: His father in 1310, bought two thirds of the Manor (Crathorne) from Arnald de Percy. William in 1322 bought the remaining third. Was later knighted by King Edward ll in 1327, having fought for the king at Boroughbridge in 1322. Also held the title, Lord of the Manor of Ness, near Hovingham. He was given this by Alice, daughter of Joan of Potto in 1333.
