In the 1861 Census, Walter is living at 102 Coleshill Street, Birmingham, with wife Sarah Ann, daughter Julia Phoebe and son Alfred Alexander. His occupation is Fruiterer. As in previous census returns his birth county is given as Essex, whilst his wife and children are shown as born in Birmingham.
