William Benjamin Flanders

Born: 1861.

Place of Birth: Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire.

Died: 1941 Keighley, Yorkshire.

Parents: William and Sarah Flanders, nee Morley.

Marriages: Elizabeth Massey, 28th June 1884 at St Mary's Church, Keighley, Yorkshire.

Children: Walter born Keighley, Yorkshire 1883, Arthur born Keighley, Yorkshire 1885, George William born Biggleswade, Bedfordshire 1889 and Maud Ethel born Stamford, Lincolnshire 1892.

Occupation: Iron moulder.

Notes: In the 1901 Census the family were living in Keighley although William Benjamin was not listed in the census. In the 1911 Census the family were again in Keighley at 8 Grange Street. The children were born as follows, Walter, in Keighley, Arthur in Keighley, George William in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, Maud Ethel in Stamford, Lincolnshire. William Benjamin's wife Elizabeth, died in Keighley in 1941.

William's son Arthur and his wife Grace, nee Simpson moved to the United States where they both died. Arthur was a member of the Territorials prior to going to the United States. George William served in the Army from 1915 to 1919 and spent sometime in Belgium. Son Walter, served with the Irish Guards in France as Guardsman 12751, where he was killed in action.
