William Broomfield

Born: 1821. Baptised 28 October 1821.

Place of Birth: Wonersh, Surrey.

Died: 1911, Hambledon Infirmery, Surrey. Buried Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery plot 85, 6 September.

Parents: James and Amelia Broomfield, nee Hedger.

Marriages: (1) Charlotte Simmonds, 28th January 1843 at the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey. (2) Fanny Margaret Glover 3rd June 1880 at John the Baptist, Wonersh.

Children: William 1843, James 1844, George 1846, Charles 1847, Thomas 1849, Andrew 1851, Joseph 1852, Henry 1855, Ameila 1857, Mark 1862, Peter 1864 and Naomi 1869.

Occupation: Agricultural labourer.

Notes: In the 1861 Census the family were living in Wonersh. In the 1891 Census William, now a widower was living with the Davis family at 8 Littleford Cottages, Wonersh. In the 1901 Census he was with the same family at 74 Littleford Cottages. In the 1911 Census he as living with George and Mirriam Bloomfield at 15 Mitchells Cottages, Blackheath, Chilworth.

William's second wife Fanny Margaret, was born in Chartteris, Cambridgeshire, in 1833 to Thomas and Lydia Glover. She died in Wonersh 1902.
