Parents: Charles Gregory Pigott and Mary Fairfax, nee Goodricke.

Notes: Charles was educated at Eton and Christ Church College, Oxford. In the 1851 Census, he was a visitor in Putney, London. In the 1861 Census, he was living in Gillling, Yorkshire, as was the case in the 1871 Census. In 1798 Charles was living in Ampleforth, Yorkshire.

Charles grandfather Nathaniel Piggot, named his son Charles Gregory Pigott Fairfax, Fairfax being his wife's family name. On the birth of his grand daughter Mary Ann in 1795, Fairfax was adopted as the family name, Pigott being dropped.

Charles Gregory Fairfax 1796, was the last male of the Fairfax line, the estate being sold after his death.
