Born: 1 January 1854. Baptised 27 January.

Place of Birth: Compton, Surrey

Died:  1928, Guildford.

Parents: Henry and Emma Simmonds, nee Woods.

Marriages: Sarah Agnes Barber, 15th June 1879 at the Congregational Chapel, Guildford.

Children: George Henry born 13th December 1879, Charles born 10th January 1883 and Elizabeth Rose born 3rd January 1885.

Occupation: In 1911 Census, Tan Yard Labourer. Also a small shop keeper at 28 Mint Street, Godalming (the family home in 1911).

Notes: Apart from the day he was Baptised, at the Parish Church, Compton, Surrey, we found no information concerning Charles, where he was with his parents. In the 1881 Census, he and wife Sarah were living at 200 Harts Lane, Godalming. In the 1891 Census Charles, Sarah, son Charles and daughter Rose, were living at 192 Harts Lane. In the 1901 Census, Charles and Sarah were living with son Charles and daughter Rose at 120 Harts Lane. In the 1911 Census, Charles and wife Sarah were living at 28 Mint Street, Godalming.

The Baptism of son George Henry was held in private at St Peter and St Paul, Godalming.

Charles's wife Sarah Barber was born 1856 in Soho, London, Middlesex. She appears in the 1871 Census, living at 283 Mill Lane, Godalming, with a Sara Nicholls, dressmaker, as a living in, domestic servant, aged 14.
