Notes: Ernest was born a Charlton, took the name Anne in 1883. The male line of the Anne family having ceased on the death of George Anne, who died in 1882. On the death of George, Ernest inherited the Burghwallis Estate. Ernest died in in 1939 and the estate passed to his son George Charlton Anne. This George subsequently sold the estate in lots, between 1942 and 1946.

Ernest's wife Edith, was the daughter of Sir Thomas Boultbee Parkyns 1797 and Charlotte Mary Smith 1801. She died 31st May 1937 at Burghwallis.
