Wendy's DNA was one of those used to identify the remains, found under a car park in Leicester, as those of Richard III of England. The car park had been previously the site of Grey Friars Priory. It was known that Richards remains had been buried there, without ceremony, following the Battle of Bosworth Field, the last battle of the War of the Roses. It had been said, that they had been dug up at some point and thrown into the River Soar, which is near by.
