In the 1881 Census, living in Drill Street, Keighley, with his wife Sarah, together with his father Richard. Father Richard is listed as paralysed. In 1891 Census, Fenton (listed as widower) is living in Oakworth Road, Leeds, together with two nieces, Amelia and Harriet King. In the 1901 Census, he is living in Rose Mount, Keighley, with wife Jane (Metcalf) and sister in law Martha Moulson.
In the 1887 Whites Directory of Bradford, Fenton is listed as a Clogger, his brother, Albert Edward is listed as an Overlooker and Richard Schoon as a Tailor.
