Notes: From birth until 1881, James lived in St John Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire. He died in Wade Street, Litchfield, Staffordshire in 1887. In 1880, James's wife Hannah, was killed in a fire at their home. She was found by James, who was unable to save her.
James's father, James, was sentenced to be transported for seven years, in 1802. The sentence was for stealing Onions. In all probability, James did know his father. This was because, his father was sentence to transportation, the year James was born.
James's wife Hannah, 1798-1880, was born and died in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Her parents were Richard and Sarah Insley, nee Trevet.
