The church register entry for Nicholas and Sarah's wedding at St Peter and St Paul, Aston. There are suggestions that Nicholas's father was John Pilch who was a Tailor. However, looking closely at the handwriting on the certificate, both in the Name and Surname column, it is clearly Pitch not Pilch. Also in the Rank or Profession it says Sailor not Tailor. Compare the 'S' in Sailor with the 'S' in Sarah in the Name column and bottom left of the certificate.
