Born: 1919, 15th October.

Place of Birth: High Melton, Yorkshire.

Died: 1941, 30th June. Robert was killed during an attempted forced landing, during torpedo training at a reservoir near Lockwinnock, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Buried 3rd June in the private burial ground at Burghwallis Hall, Yorkshire.

Parents: Ernest Lambert Swinburne Charlton and Edith Anne, nee Parkyns.

Marriages: Not married.

Occupation: At the time of his death, Robert was a RAF Volunteer Reserve Pilot Officer, undergoing training.
