The image above shows the birth registration of Sarah Agnes Barber, the
wife of Charles Simmonds 1854. You will see her parents were George and
Mary Barber and the birth took place in North St Giles in the Fields,
Middlesex. This area subsequently became Soho. In entries found in
Census and marriage data, Sarah drops the name Agnes, except at the
baptism of son Charles. Her parents signed themselves as George Edward
Barber and Mary Frances Cook on their wedding registration. The mothers
name given at Sarah's birth registration is Mary Barber formerly Cook.
