This is an LMS Fowler 4F Goods engine at a very early stage of construction.
Since the brass plate is much thinner than the Barry tank above, each stage
of construction has to be taken slowly so as to avoid causing distortion
when soldering. This represents around 20 hours work.
An addition to the locomotive fleet at an advanced stage of construction.
The actual locomotive being modelled, an 'A' Class Tank Engine, was built by
the Barry Dock & Railways Company in 1888 as Engine Number 3.
