The photograph shows the progress made on the LNWR/LMS 0-8-2 Coal Tank
as of 24/02/2011. You will note that there are only four pairs of wheels
currently attached to the chassis. The missing pair will eventually be
fitted to the chassis in the elongated hole beneath the cab. There is much
work yet to be completed prior to painting, including the removal of the
metal containing the lettering just below the cab roof.
Earlier in this saga there is a photograph of a signal box in the early
stages of construction. That box has been abandoned in favour of the model
in the picture above. The kit for this box was supplied by Lasercraft Devon
Ltd, a much superior kit than the previous one. The parts are cut by laser
and are very accurate compared with the moulded parts of the original. It
was a joy to construct and paint.
